To recognize the National School Lunch Program, serving nearly 30 million children each day, schools across the country will celebrate National School Lunch Week from October 12-16, 2020. The theme, “Now Playing: School Lunch!” puts the spotlight on the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life. Now more than ever before, as we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, we are reminded that students need regular school meals whether in school or through alternate site delivery of grab & go meals.

Students across the country are continuing their school year in a variety of ways – some in-person, some completely remote, and some in a hybrid model of some days at school and some days at home. This makes for an incredibly challenging task for all school decision-makers, including foodservice personnel. This means more Classroom Feeding, grab & go meals and individually wrapped items so students can handle the food themselves.

To help promote your school lunch program, the School Nutrition Association provides on its website a variety of material for this campaign, including:
