During the coronavirus pandemic we have seen so many inspiring stories of heroes. From the health care workers on the front lines to police officers, grocery workers, bus drivers, and those in our own foodservice industry, the human spirit is providing us all us with so much hope. Perhaps you’ve seen or heard the phrase, “Not All Heroes Wear Capes . . . Some Wear Aprons”. This couldn’t be more relevant in school foodservice than during this COVID-19 pandemic as so many groups are working together to ensure that our nation’s school children are able to receive meals while schools are closed. Everyone is doing their part – schools, foodservice directors, cafeteria staff, foodservice providers, volunteers, etc. – to provide millions of emergency meals on a daily basis.
